In 1993 I painted a lot of pictures and started making guitars. One of those paintings was a tiger with piercing eyes — it ended up giving its name to the tiger's eye finishes I still do today. Call it a creative awakening.
Since then I've been in the shop in Fort Worth, working long days, seven days a week. I'm the only one here, so every guitar that goes out has had one pair of hands on it from raw board to final setup.
The Diablo body shape is patented and the headstock is a registered trademark, but the point was never the paperwork. The point was a guitar that balances on your leg, rings out clean, and stays a lifelong friend.
Players
Ariel Pozzo plays a Diablo. He's a monster player, well known among guitarists, and it's an honour to have him carrying one on stage in Puerto Rico and Chicago.
Diablos have gone out to players all over the United States and beyond, and most of them started with a phone call about a piece of wood.
